The Hockey Community Is Mourning The Tragic Loss Of A 21-Year-Old Hockey Player

A recent announcement revealed that a 21-year-old hockey player has unfortunately passed away and the hockey community is mourning it.
It was revealed that 21-year-old Skyler Smith unfortunately passed away on April 5th.
The Chebucto Minor Hockey Association released a devastating statement after this news came out in a small town in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
On behalf of Chebucto Minor Hockey Association, we would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of Chebucto Almuni, Skyler Smith.
Our thoughts are with all of you as you navigate through this unimaginable tragedy.
Smith was playing hockey for the Chebucto Atlantics, and had a special bond with his father Lee, and brother Colby over the sport.
Even when Smith wasn't playing hockey, you found him at the rink cheering on his siblings, Colby, Landen, and Stettson as they also all played hockey and loved the game.
In his
obituary, Skyler was described as a ray of sunshine, and had an infectious laugh, he loved life and everything that came with living, and was always chasing a new adventure. He was also described to be super confident, hardworking, and had a dependable attitude.
After the news of his passing, many of his friends went on to share just how honest, and genuine he was, and that he made life worth living. He was the type of person everyone wanted to have as a friend.
A brother you could always could on, and the son you were always proud of. Many of his friends shared how genuine, honest and outgoing Skyler was, he made life worth living. He was kind, patient and caring. He was a true friend.
Although he has left us way too early, his family is finding peace knowing that he has left the world doing what he loved to do.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Smith family, friends, and anyone else effected by this heartbreaking passing.
