The Hockey Community Is Mourning The Tragic Loss Of A 21-Year-Old Hockey Player

It was revealed that 21-year-old Skyler Smith unfortunately passed away on April 5th.

The Chebucto Minor Hockey Association released a devastating statement after this news came out in a small town in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Smith was playing hockey for the Chebucto Atlantics, and had a special bond with his father Lee, and brother Colby over the sport.

Even when Smith wasn't playing hockey, you found him at the rink cheering on his siblings, Colby, Landen, and Stettson as they also all played hockey and loved the game.

In his obituary, Skyler was described as a ray of sunshine, and had an infectious laugh, he loved life and everything that came with living, and was always chasing a new adventure. He was also described to be super confident, hardworking, and had a dependable attitude.

After the news of his passing, many of his friends went on to share just how honest, and genuine he was, and that he made life worth living. He was the type of person everyone wanted to have as a friend.

Although he has left us way too early, his family is finding peace knowing that he has left the world doing what he loved to do.
