As the Boston Bruins enjoy the longest break in NHL history between a Conference Final and Stanley Cup Final, all eyes are on the Bruins' banged up players.
11 days to recover is a huge boost to B's players playing with some bumps and bruises and one of those is the captain, Zdeno Chara.
Chara missed Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals which gave some fans a scare, however the Bruins were confident going into Game 4 in Carolina.
The B's took Game 4 and the whole team was given an opportunity to rest.
Chara was back on the ice for practice Monday, the first time since the Bruins wrapped up their series against Carolina. The 42 year old admitted it was tough watching them clinch the series as he was on the sideline.
"It was, I'm not gonna lie," he said. "Watching games are not fun. You want to play them, you want to be involved in them. It was that feeling of an anxiousness to play. But the guys did a great job."
The practice with the team on Monday is helping the veteran get back up to speed.
"I feel good," said Chara. "It was nice to be out there again. Skated [Sunday] and skated with the team [Monday]. So it was a good practice, good pace."
All signs point to Chara being ready to go for Game 1 which takes place May 27th.
