The strong bond between Boston Bruins goaltenders Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark has played a significant role in the team's remarkable success during the regular season.

However, this very bond may now be the reason why the duo could be separated.
Ideally, the Bruins would love to have their goaltending tandem return for another season. Unfortunately, the economic realities of the National Hockey League's salary cap have sparked widespread speculation about a potential trade involving the Bruins' goaltenders.
Recently, Ullmark found himself in Nashville ahead of the NHL Awards and faced a barrage of tough questions from the media about his future in Boston. In response, Ullmark openly admitted that he had indeed considered the possibility of being traded this summer.
"It has definitely crossed my mind. I won't deny it. That's just the nature of the business," Ullmark candidly stated, according to the Boston Globe. "That's the world we live in."
The motivation behind a potential trade revolves around Swayman's impending salary raise this summer. After his impressive performance last season, Swayman is expected to receive a substantial increase from his previous earnings of $925,000. Although Swayman is a restricted free agent, he is projected to secure a lucrative contract.
If the Bruins decide to trade Ullmark, he will have a significant say in his future. His contract includes a no-trade list of 16 teams, effectively limiting the potential trade partners available to the Bruins for such a transaction.
