Despite Patrice Bergeron being nominated for another Frank J. Selke Trophy in which he will most likely win.
The 37-year-old will not be in Nashville and will not attend Monday nights award ceremonies.
It is unknown why the Bruins captain won't be attending, but it may be due to the fact that he is over the ceremonies in general after attending so many.
After all, Patrice Bergeron, has led the league in nominations for quite some time. Winning the trophy in 2011-12, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2016-17, 2021-22, and now 2022-23.
Many Bruins fans are led to believe that this means Patrice Bergeron may not be done playing; because why wouldn't he attend and accept it in person if it was his last season? Just to soak it all in, but that is just an idea and highly unlikely.
Another assumption is that his wife is/was expecting, which could be the main reason why Bergeron is not in Nashville.
