The newest goalie in Ottawa is the former Vezina Trophy winner in 2022-2023, Linus Ullmark.

The beloved goalie was dealt to Ottawa, in a package deal that saw Joonas Korpisalo, the 25th overall pick in 2024, and Mario Kastelic sent back to Boston.

Of course, this is sad news for Bruins fans who loved the dynamic duo in net, and the goalie hugs at the end of every match.

As the bromance begins, a new story begins in Ottawa, as Ullmark adjusts from cold Boston winters, to the frigid cold in Ottawa. But that isn't the sticking point for Ullmark, as of course being Swedish is used to frigid cold.

It's a matter of quality of life for the goalie, who has stated he will put off signing an extension in the meantime, while GM Steve Staios and his agent will discuss it on the side.

Ullmark says there's been no extension discussions. Wants to find a place to live, schools for kids and getting to know people in Ottawa. "The contract is something that Steve and my agent will deal with off to the side," says Ullmark #Sens

It sounds like taking care of meaningful life items comes first as he and his family makes sure their settled in for good, before deciding on term.

Which makes sense for someone who is transplanted from one country, to another.

Ullmark's record in 2023-2024 is as follows: 22-10-7 in 40 GP, a 2.55 GAA, and a .915 save percentage.
