As the offseason approaches, the Toronto Maple Leafs have their eyes on potential additions to bolster their roster, particularly in the bottom-six forward and right-shot defenseman positions.

Among the unrestricted free agents (UFA) from the Boston Bruins, a few names stand out as strong contenders for the Leafs' consideration.

Garnet Hathaway has caught the attention of many teams, and the Maple Leafs are no exception. With his ability to contribute offensively in a bottom-six role (13 goals, 22 points in 84 games this season) and his tenacious style of play (268 hits), Hathaway would bring the much-needed toughness and defensive reliability to Toronto's lineup.

His signing would also secure his spot on the penalty kill, making him an attractive option for the Leafs on a three-year deal.

Another player who could fit well in the Leafs' plans is Connor Clifton, a right-shot defenseman. While Luke Schenn's re-signing seems probable, Justin Holl's future with the team is uncertain.

Adding Clifton, who had an impressive season with the Bruins (five goals, 18 assists, 208 hits, plus-20 rating in 78 games), would provide the Maple Leafs with offensive production, physicality, and improved defensive play. Clifton's versatility would make him a valuable asset, capable of handling second-pairing minutes if needed.

Tyler Bertuzzi has been a subject of interest for the Maple Leafs, and this offseason could present an opportunity to acquire him. With Michael Bunting likely not returning as a pending UFA, Bertuzzi could step in and elevate the Leafs' top-six forward group.

Playing alongside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, Bertuzzi would not only add offense but also bring a much-needed gritty presence. Additionally, his playmaking ability would make him a vital asset on the power play.

While Bertuzzi remains the most coveted option, Hathaway and Clifton shouldn't be overlooked. Each player offers unique strengths that could benefit the Maple Leafs.

It will be intriguing to see if Toronto can outmaneuver their long-time rival, the Boston Bruins, and secure one or more of these players during the upcoming offseason.
