The Bruins head to Montreal for their final game of the 2022-23 regular season, however, Jim Montgomery is icing a rather surprising lineup given the circumstances.

No Rest for the Regulars?

Boston has already achieved the best regular season in NHL history in terms of total wins and points. However, according to multiple reports, Montgomery won't be resting any of his top/regular players.

According to Matt Porter of The Boston Globe, it was leadership's idea:

''The idea is that this is their final tune-up before the playoffs. Leaders felt it was important.''

Montgomery stated that Jeremy Swayman will start instead of AHL All-Star Brandon Bussi, as he wants him sharp for playoffs. No need to worry, as they expect Linus Ullmark to be fine, as well.

Based on reports, expect the Bruins lineup to looks something as the following:

Marchand-Bergeron-DeBrusk
Bertuzzi-Zacha-Pastrnak
Hall-Coyle-Lauko
Greer-Frederic-Hathaway

Orlov-McAvoy
Lindholm-Carlo
Grzelcyk-Clifton

One interesting thing to keep an eye on is Trent Frederic at fourth line centre, as there will be a log jam to get a depth lineup spot on the Bruins.

Only thing to worry about all the regulars playing in what is basically a nothing game, is injuries. The fact that the game doesn't mean anything to either Boston or Montreal, it could be a very ‘'gentlemanly'' game - for the lack of a better term.

But you never know what will happen between these two longtime rivals!
