Milan Lucic's true feelings about returning to the Bruins after 8 years

Milan Lucic made a clear choice during NHL Free Agency by returning to the Boston Bruins on a one-year contract, marking his comeback after eight years away since his trade to the Los Angeles Kings in 2015.

Lucic also had stints with the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames before his homecoming to Boston.

Lucic arrived in Boston on Sunday to start gearing up for the upcoming season, hitting the ice for a skate at the team's practice facility.

Notably, he had the privilege of throwing the first pitch at Fenway Park before the Boston Red Sox faced off against the Baltimore Orioles, despite the Sox ultimately falling 11-2.

Back in 2015, Lucic was traded to the Kings in a deal that brought goalie Martin Jones, defenseman Collin Miller, and a first-round pick to Boston. Interestingly, the Bruins later sent Jones to the San Jose Sharks.

Lucic's Journey

During his time with the Kings, Lucic performed admirably, notching 20 goals and 55 points in 81 games.

This made him a hot commodity in NHL Free Agency, and he eventually signed a seven-year contract with the Oilers.

Lucic's initial season with Edmonton showed promise, with 23 goals and a resurgence in his point production. However, his performance declined, leading to a trade to the Flames.

Back in Black and Gold

Lucic's official return to the Boston Bruins is set for October 11 when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks.

The veteran forward expressed his excitement, saying,
