Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman $50 million apart according to Elliotte Friedman

According to one of the most reliable and trustworthy insiders in the NHL, Elliotte Friedman has reported that the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman are $50 million off in contract talks, and Swayman could miss sometime this season.

Jeremy Swayman missing sometime due to this contract situation would not come as a surprise as he has the same agent William Nylander does, and during Nylander's contract year he missed the first couple months of the year, and we could see this happen again with Swayman.

The Boston Bruins made some big moves this off-season and one of the bigger and more shocking moves was trading Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators. Many fans felt like the return the Bruins got for Ullmark was underwhelming.

But the Bruins made some big moves during the off-season as well, bringing in some solid depth pieces and also signing a couple big names like Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov.

It appears that the Boston Bruins are still far apart from a deal with Jeremy Swayman, as Ryan Whitney stated on the Spittin Chiclets podcast that the Bruins have offered Swayman a four-year deal worth $6.2 million. This offer has shocked many people as it is considered to be a low ball, considering Swayman is considered a top goalie in the league.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman backed up Ryan Whitney and confirmed that this latest offer was actually true from the Boston Bruins. Friedman also stated that Jeremy Swayman is reportedly looking for $10 million on his next deal.

The Boston Bruins have roughly a month to get a deal done with Jeremy Swayman before the start of the season.
