The war of words between General manager Don Sweeney and Spittin Chiclets host Ryan Whitney continues to roil the web as Whitney doubles down on his podcast.

Whitney's report States that Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman received a lowball offer from management and ownership. The offer was four years at $6.2 million per season which is a far lower number than what has been reported by other pundits in the NHL and Swayman's camp.

Sweeney chose to take it to the next level as he called out Whitney and the Spittin Chiclets where He called their show The Spitting on Yourself Podcast while using choice language to describe what he feels as a downright lie.

Whitney responded by saying this was a slap in the face from the Bruins ownership toward Swayman and that the Bruins will need to augment their offer by a significant amount in order to lock in his services. Many feel that it'll be an 8 year deal and Swayman's deal modeled around Bruins defenseman Charlie McEvoy, which holds a cap hit of $9.5 million per season.

Swayman has been adamant that he knows what he's worth, understands his comparables that are around his level and what a number should look like for his talent. It remains to be seen on how all this will play out as Sweeney has posed a December 1st deadline much like what happened to William Nylander and the Toronto Maple Leafs To which they signed just minutes before the deadline.

All Bruins fans can do is wait and watch as this event unfolds.
