Recently, a surprising trade proposal has surfaced the media, which would see the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings swap centers in a blockbuster deal.
The Boston Bruins still have a lot of work to do this offseason if they intend to undergo a better run for the upcoming 2025/26 NHL season.
As majority of their completed moves this offseason were mostly rebuilding their bottom-six, which leaves them still in desperate need for a top center.
That being said, there are still a huge hole in the organization's roster, yet, there is still time for the Boston Bruins' general manager, Don Sweeney, and the front office to find a top center candidate before training camp and the regular season begin.
And lucky enough, names have still been swirling in trade rumors, hinting at the fact this Original Six franchise is not quite done with their offseason moves.
One of those names is
Casey Mittelstadt, who the Boston Bruins acquired through a trade with the Colorado Avalanche during last season's NHL Trade Deadline.
A recent report by Jimmy Murphy of RG Media reveals that Casey Mittelstadt could be on his way out of Boston
In a recent report by reporter, Jimmy Murphy of
RG Media, he revealed that Sweeney is expected to move Mittelstadt at some point soon, as told to him by an anonymous executive.
«I think a lot of teams have been and are expecting the Bruins to flip him at some point, but where's his value at right now if that's the case? They may just see how it goes this season. Maybe he reshapes his value, and if they're out of it again at the next trade deadline, then they move him then and parlay him into another pick or prospect.»
As of late, there has been an abundance of rumors and speculation's suggesting that the Boston Bruins are set to depart with their recently acquired forward, and now, with Jimmy Murphy, a well connected source, revealing Mittelstadt is expected to be traded, it seems as though fans should prepare for his departure.
With that, a recent mock trade has also surfaced the media regarding a one-for-one trade involving Mittelstadt and an Atlantic Division rival.
Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings suggested to combine for a blockbuster trade
Jake Rivard of
Heavy.com published a recent mock trade which would see the Boston Bruins trade Casey Mittelstadt for the Detroit Red Wings'
J.T. Compher.
This center-for-center swap is extremely doable money-wise, however, this unfortunately wouldn't solve the Boston Bruins' need for a top-line center.
Do you think the Boston Bruins should undergo this trade with the Detroit Red Wings or wait to use Mittelstadt as a trade asset to acquire a top-center?
