Bruins Head Coach Joe Sacco Speaks Out On Verbal Altercation With Jets Coach Following Brutal Loss
Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco broke the silence on his verbal altercation with Winnipeg Jets head coach during brutal loss.
Tempers flared during the Bruins game against the Winnipeg Jets, but not only did the flare on the ice, but also on the benches in the third period during the Bruins 8-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
While all of this was taking place, Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel got into a yelling match with the Boston Bruins bench. Joe Sacco seemed to be confused on what Arniel was trying to address by yelling at the Bruins bench. Following the game Joe Sacco stated there wasn't any communication between the benches.
«No, not that I know of,» Sacco told reporters, per team-provided audio.
Arniel, following the game was also asked on what made him start yelling at the Boston Bruins bench, but he wouldn't explain why.
Here is what he had to say:
«Something else happened that don't need to get into it,» Arniel told reporters, per team-provided video.
There is some speculation that
Charlie McAvoy's hit to the head of
Cole Perfetti at the 6:45 mark into the third period is what may have upset Arniel and caused him to start yelling at the bench.
Arniel sent a message of his own to the Boston Bruins by sending out their top power play group while up 5-1 in the third period who would go on to score extending the Jets lead to 6-1.
«Yeah, certainly you read that right,» Arniel said. «But at the end of the day, I'm not going to sit and talk about what happened the last 10 minutes of the hockey (game). That's detrimental for the game we played. We played a helluva hockey game against a good hockey team.»
