Nikita Zadorov is already being called out by new Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm after just the first preseason game.

Sunday marked the Boston Bruins first preseason game, and Nikita Zadorov was a defenseman in the lineup for the Bruins.
Things did not go well for the Bruins in general during their first game, as they ended up losing 5-2 to the Washington Capitals, but it was a bad look on Zadorov as well.
And now, head coach Marco Sturm is calling him out publicly to the media.

Marco Sturm publicly stated Zadorov needs to be better

If the Boston Bruins actually want to be a better team this year, their defense needs to be way better for them, and Zadorov is a player that will need to step up.
Last season, the Bruins dealt with a bunch of injuries on their blueline which did not help them, but their defense was still terrible.
Sturm believes that Zadorov can be a leader for the Bruins, and they are going to need him to be one moving forward.
Marco Sturm on Nikita Zadorov: «We need him this year. We need him to be a leader, be a presence on the ice, and be one of the better D moving forward.»
This was not the case Sunday night, where Zadorov finished the game with 18:15 of ice time, and a minus-2 on the night.
Everyone is going to have to buy in for the Bruins to get back to being a competitive team this season, but the Bruins are going to need their veteran and leadership players to step up, and that includes Nikita Zadorov.
