Ex-Boston Bruins goaltender Malcolm Subban has officially signed a new professional contract.
On Saturday, October 26th, Malcolm Subban was released from his professional tryout contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins, but that wouldn't be the end of his professional career as he quickly earned himself a contract with the Belleville Senators.
The #BellevilleSens have signed goaltender Malcolm Subban to a one-year American Hockey League contract.
Welcome back to Belleville, Malcolm!
The Boston Bruins drafted Malcolm Subban with the 24th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Level Draft. Subban was with the Boston Bruins organization for four-years, before being claimed off of waivers by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017-18 season.
During his time with the Boston Bruins, Subban appeared in just two NHL games having a 0-2-0 record, with a .727 save percentage and a horrible 5.28 goals-against average.
Subban would go on to play 87 games in the NHL which was split between the Boston Bruins, Vegas Golden Knights, Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, and Chicago Blackhawks, and has a 36-34-9 record, .898 save percentage and a 3.10 career goals-against average.
The 30-year-old goaltenders time in the NHL is more then likely done, and it seems like he will be taking his talents to the American Hockey League for the remainder of his career.
