Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella lost it in his post game press conference and had some controversial comments following the Bruins win.
Heading into the third period the Flyers held a 3-1 lead on the Bruins, but saw it go away after
Brad Marchand and
Trent Frederic came up big scoring for the Bruins to tie the game.
Following the Bruins win, Flyers head coach John Tortorella lost it on the refs, and made some controversial comments towards the Boston Bruins as well after
Pavel Zacha scored the game winning goal from
David Pastrnak in overtime.
«Let me start. One thing I teach my team to do is not dive,» Tortorella said, per team-provided video. «Maybe I should start teaching them that. The way this has gone here, the way this (expletive) goes on, maybe I should teach them to dive.»
During the game, the Philadelphia Flyers were called for eight penalties where the Boston Bruins were only called for four. The Flyers had a 50% powerplay tonight going 1-for-2, whereas the Boston Bruins was horrible once again going 1-for-6, and the Flyers head caoch felt the Bruins were being favourited by the officials.
«I'm not gonna go too deep into it,» he continued. «It's one of the things we talk about most as a team, we gotta play an honest game. There's no cheating. There's no embarrassing referees. You don't embarrass the referees. The (expletive) that went on here tonight is just ridiculous.
« I'm proud of the way our team played. Did we (expletive) another one away? Yeah, but other people had a little bit to do with that also.»
This win marked the fourth straight win for the Boston Bruins after beating the Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, and the Chicago Blackhawks before today's game.
Now the Bruins will be heading on the road for a five-game road trip that starts on Tuesday against the Winnipeg Jets.
