Jeremy Swayman Joonas Korpisalo Boston Bruins shutouts made the goalie hug feel familiar again.

Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings, Boston stayed in control and finished with a 3-0 win at TD Garden. Swayman turned aside 24 shots for the shutout as the Bruins stretched their winning streak to four.
The fun wrinkle came after the horn, when Swayman and Korpisalo met and hugged it out. Bruins fans have muscle memory for that moment, because the old post-win staple used to be Swayman and Linus Ullmark.
This time it looked a little different, a little less choreographed, but it still landed. It also carried a quiet message, the two goalies are pulling the same rope, and the room knows it.

Jeremy Swayman and Joonas Korpisalo make it two

As a Bruins watcher, I laughed and smiled at once, because it felt weird and comforting in the same breath.
B/R Open Ice captured it perfectly with the line,
«Swayman and Korpisalo hug it out after BACK TO BACK shutouts by the two. 🥹»

They also claimed it was a rare tandem feat, though the exact historical count is tougher to confirm quickly.
The back to back part is rock solid. Korpisalo blanked the Pittsburgh Penguins 1-0 on Sunday with 27 saves, giving Boston its first shutout of the season, then Swayman followed with another clean sheet versus Detroit.
And this Detroit win was not a fluke steal, Boston drove play hard. Reuters had the Bruins outshooting the Red Wings 41-24, with Pavel Zacha opening the scoring and Fraser Minten and Mark Kastelic adding third period goals.
For Swayman, it is the kind of start that resets the crease conversation after Korpisalo's big week. For Korpisalo, the hug is proof his shutout was appreciated, not forgotten.
Now Bruins fans get the best possible problem, two goalies feeling good at the same time, and a team finally stacking points like it means something.
