Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery seems like he is removing a player from his roster ahead of their game against the Los Angeles Kings.
Following a tough 6-4 loss to the Florida Panthers on Tuesday in the Boston Bruins season opening game, the Bruins bounced back during their home opener against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.
It seems like Matthew Poitras will be returning to the Boston Bruins lineup after missing the final week of preseason, and Boston Bruins two first games of the season.
«He's very close, he's progressing the right way. I'm gonna say he's a possibility [Saturday]. We've just got to see how he responds later today,» Jim Montgomery told reporters Friday, per Eric Russo of BostonBruins.com
On Thursday, Matthew Poitras made his return to the Boston Bruins practice, and stated that he was excited to play in his second season with the Boston Bruins. Yesterday the Boston Bruins placed Ian Mitchell on waivers hinting that Matthew Poitras will be activated for today's game. If Poitras does return he will slot into the 3C spot along side Frederic, and Brazeau. Riley Tufte will be the odd man out for the forward group.
Montgomery also revealed that Mason Lohrei is expected to slot back into the roster after being a healthy scratch on Thursday. The reason Mason Lohrei was a healthy scratch was because Montgomery wanted everyone to play one game to start the regular season. Mason Lohrei will come back into the lineup, and take Parker Wotherspoon.
