Danton Heinen returned to practice with the Boston Bruins at Warrior Ice Arena this Saturday, the first time since Game 5 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Heinen, who missed the last five postseason games with an undisclosed injury, skated with Charlie Coyle and Trent Frederic and rejoined the second power play unit.
Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery commented on Heinen's progress, stating,
"Heinen looks like ... we'll know more tomorrow for sure. See how he responded to practice, but that's the best he's looked in practice."
Expressing his eagerness to get back on the ice, Heinen said,
"I feel good. So, if I'm able to go tomorrow, just hopeful. It's a lot harder to watch than be out there battling."
The Bruins, who have faced challenges with their penalty kill, particularly after allowing four Florida power-play goals in Game 3, could greatly benefit from Heinen's return.
This is especially pertinent as Bruins captain Brad Marchand is day-to-day following a questionable hit from Panthers forward Sam Bennett. Boston is set to even out their series against Florida in Game 4 at TD Garden, with puck drop scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
