Given it's the same place they sent Linus Ullmark to, would you expect the Bruins and Senators to be trade partners again? With an 11-11-3 record, they definitely need to consider whatever options are possible right now.
One of them is Senators forward, Adam Gaudette who is a 28-year-old forward, who has 13 points( 12 G, 1 A) whose scored five goals in his last five games.
Gaudette could be an easy sell for the Bruins as he's a Braintree, Massachusets native and recently signed a league minimum deal in Ottawa.
He could easily fit underneath the Bruins' tight cap space, with a $775K salary cap hit, and could bolster the offense.
Gaudette is currently shooting at 37.5% which is unsustainable for any NHLer but has been a fixture on the Senators' top line.
If the Bruins acquired Gaudette, he would provide them with another solid option for their middle six and power play. Furthermore, he has more goals than every Bruins player so far this season, including David Pastrnak (eight) and Brad Marchand (eight). Thus, he could be a nice low-risk, high-reward player for the Bruins to bring in.
He's earned the compliments of his teammates including Captain Brady Tkachuk with his stellar play this season.
«He's been hot,» Tkachuk said. «Been scoring some big goals for us. Just has that capability to be able to bear down and get us one. And usually always important ones too.»
«This line has been performing all year. They play hard for us every night,» Senators forward Tim Stützle said. «He just finds a way to get pucks in the net. It showed tonight. All of those three guys, they bring something else to the team. It's just awesome to watch - that's exactly what the team needs.»
«He's probably truly more of a power-play guy than a fourth-line penalty kill guy, which is kind of the norm,» Green said. «Which is different but it's also a nice option to have.»
He's been a victim of the Senators; salary cap structure, and Don Sweeney could be a big help, and save them cash, and bring him home to Boston.
