Transaction: Bruins target Sam Bennett in the process of signing a $64 million contract

There has been a new development in the Florida Panthers signing Sam Bennett according to multiple insiders.

According to David Pagnotta, this morning he revealed that there are serious discussions between Bennett and the Florida Panthers, and he is set to sign a 8-year contract extension.

If the Panthers do confirm this, it will be a big blow to a lot of teams including the Bruins who have been linked to him.

It's also very rare to see a player sign during the middle of the Stanley Cup Final so that will be a shock as well if it happens.

Florida Working On An 8-Year Contract Extension With Bennett

The deal is reportedly in works right now between the Panthers and Bennett, which would be an eight year, $64 million contract.

During the off-season, it was reported that a lot of teams were gearing up to offer Bennett $10 million a year, but it seems like he would rather stay in Florida.

There is some speculation that the deal is already in place, and will be announced as soon as the Cup Final concludes.

During the 2025 playoffs, Bennett has been a force scoring 21 points in 21 games.

The former second round pick of the Calgary Flames scored 51 points in 76 regular season games for the Panthers while having 90 penalty minutes.
