The Edmonton Oilers have announced some major changes moments before game 2 against the Florida Panthers tonight.
The Edmonton Oilers had some terrible break downs against the Panthers in game one that would end up leading to them losing 2-0.
Ahead of game two Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch wasted no time in making some big changes after not being happy with his teams defence.
It was announced today that Cody Ceci will not be in the lineup for tonight's game and instead Vincent Desharnais will be taking his spot, as he was spotted during their morning skate beside Darenell Nurse.
Kane's status for Game 2 is unknown at this point."
The Oilers weak points are definitely their defence and their goaltending as Stuart Skinner has looked shaky throughout the playoffs, and the Florida Panthers took advantage of that as they scored on just their second shot in game one.
Darenell Nurse has been horrible for the Oilers as well as he has a -15 +/- in the playoffs so far and has the second worst playoff rating in a single year in NHL history.
"Watch how many times teams exploit that pairing. It's a set play. Dump it into Ceci's corner and watch Nurse mentally malfunction. Avs did it. Vegas did it. They aren't learning. Go back to the pairings from game 4, 5, and 6. It's okay to admit you f**ked up."
The Edmonton Oilers need to be better defensivly and have better goaltending if they want a chance to compete against a deep Florida Panthers team.
Do you think these changes will make a difference for the Edmonton Oilers in game two?
