Some heartbreaking news has struck Brad Marchand and his family, and it's being reported that he has stepped away from the Panthers.
It's unclear what exactly has happened, but it was reported that
Marchand had a loss in his family circle.
Head coach Paul Maurice confirmed that Marchand will not be in the Panthers lineup for their game against the Anaheim Ducks tonight.
Marchand is out tomorrow vs. Ducks.

Marchand was big for the Panthers in return to TD Garden
Whenever Brad Marchand returned back to TD Garden on October 21st, he played a massive role in the Panthers' upset over the Bruins.
It was an emotional night, not only for Marchand but also for everyone in attendance.
During the first TV timeout, a video tribute was played on the jumbotron for Marchand, and he was seen
crying while watching.
The Bruins were motivated to win during his return, but Marchand was not going to let that happen.
Marchand picked up the primary assist on the Panthers' first goal and later on picked up another one.
He had a chance to score an empty net goal, but didn't. The Panthers ended up defeating the Bruins in his return by a final score of 4-3.
