According to multiple insiders, including Elliotte Friedman, the Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets nearly completed a trade involving a top-six forward.
During the NHL trade deadline last season, Don Sweeney decided it was time for the
Bruins to make some change.
There were multiple other Bruins players that were reportedly generating a lot of trade interest, and the Bruins nearly traded one, or so we thought.
Recently, Elliotte Friedman spoke on how the Boston Bruins tried to trade
Pavel Zacha to the Winnipeg Jets during the NHL trade deadline, but Zacha ended up vetoing the trade.
Now new details have emerged on it.
Zacha did not veto a trade to the Jets
According to both Elliotte Friedman and Jimmy Murphy, this was not true.
Zacha did not veto a trade to the Winnipeg Jets, and both Murphy and Friedman recently confirmed this.
As @FriedgeHNIC mentioned on 32 Thoughts, there has been chatter that #NHLBruins forward Pavel Zacha vetoed a trade to #GoJetsGo at the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline.
Just as Elliotte was told, I'm told by one of the teams, and a source close to Zacha: 'Not true'
Pavel Zacha has been involved in trade rumors dating back to the 2025 NHL trade deadline, and they have followed him into the season.
There has been a lot of talk about the Bruins
trading him, but they are asking for a high price in return.
