This season, Charlie McAvoy has been one of the Bruins worst players, which is surprising, but now there is a chance he could get demoted because of it.
After missing a big chunk of the season last year, the
Bruins were excited to get McAvoy back and have him healthy this year.
Well, things haven't gone to plan for McAvoy this year, and he's been one of the Bruins worst players so far this season.
The McAvoy-Lohrei pair has been a big problem for the Bruins so far, but it's clear that McAvoy has been weighting down Lohrei to start the season.
Facing off against the Colorado Avalanche, the Bruins split this pairing up, and Lohrei had a career game.
Last night, for some reason, they ended up putting the pair back together, and they once again looked terrible.
With the Bruins losing the game, Sturm made some mid-game
changes, once again splitting up the McAvoy-Lohrei pairing.
A new stat has surfaced, showing just how bad McAvoy has been, and it could lead to him being demoted.
McAvoy has been on the ice for 14 goals against at 5-on-5 this season, which is the most in the NHL.
Charlie McAvoy has now been on the ice for 14 goals against at 5-on-5 this season, most in the NHL.
Kind of a weird leaderboard early on tbh:
If McAvoy continues to play like this, the Bruins may have no choice but to demote him lines, and take away some of his playing time.
It will be interesting to see what happens, and the Bruins are back in action tonight against New York Islanders.
