David Pagnotta has linked the Toronto Maple Leafs to a game-changing player in Brett Pesce.
«Circling back to Pesce, he will be a player both Nashville and Toronto pursue if he's available July 1,» said Pagnotta. «Clearly, there will be other potential suitors, but the Predators and Maple Leafs will go after him if they can.»
Brett Pesce has proven himself to be a solid shut down defenseman with the Carolina Hurricanes and could be one of the pieces the Maple Leafs are missing to make a serious run as the Maple Leafs have been missing a solid shut down defenseman.
There are rumours going around the Maple Leafs might make a trade to acquire his rights before July 1st hits and try to negotiate a contract with him.
Pesce is coming off a six-year $24,150,000 contract and might be looking to get something similar to that.
