Getting ready for a big game against the Boston Bruins, the Toronto Maple Leafs made a big move. They brought up nine players from the Marlies, their minor league team. This includes guys like Dennis Hildeby, Kyle Clifford, and Topi Niemela.

The Marlies had to end their playoff run early, losing to the Belleville Senators. So, the Leafs decided to bring up some of their players to help out.

Even though the Leafs won Game 5 with their current lineup, these new players could be called in if someone gets hurt. This is pretty normal when AHL teams finish their season.

This isn't anything. It's common for teams to call up their entire roster of NHL contracted players when the minor-league team is done.

The Marlies are done so the Leafs recalled AHL players to be extras, as every playoff team does when their affiliate is eliminated.

Kyle Clifford was 1 of 9 guys called up. He's not going to play. It's just bait if anyone singles out his recall

So, while the Leafs are likely sticking with their winning lineup, these new guys are ready to step in if needed. It's a big game, and every player is important as the Leafs try to keep their playoff hopes alive. Stay tuned for more updates as the game gets closer.
