Former Bruins fan favorite and current captain of the Chicago Blackhawks was just hit with some unfortunate news.

According to a recent report, Nick Foligno, a former Boston Bruins fan favorite, is going to miss some significant time.
Recently, Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill was speaking to reporters and announced that captain Nick Foligno was going to be out long-term.

Foligno to miss four weeks

Head coach Jeff Blashill confirmed that Foligno ended up injuring his hand and now is going to miss the next four weeks or so.
"While speaking to reporters, Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill announced that Foligno will be out for four weeks due to a hand injury."

-Michael DeRosa, The Hockey News.

When appearing in their most recent game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on November 15th, Foligno ended up leaving the game after blocking a shot.
According to these recent reports from Blashill, the former Bruin fan favorite is set to be out until mid-December.
The 38-year-old captain has appeared in 15 games for the Blackhawks this season, where he has 6 assists, 41 hits, and a plus-2 rating this season.
Last year, Foligno had a solid year for the Blackhawks considering how bad they were, where he scored 15 goals and had 35 points along with 200 hits in 78 games.
Not only does Foligno bring leadership in the locker room for a young Blackhawks team, but he also brings leadership to the ice, and the Blackhawks are going to dearly miss that while he is sidelined.
During his time with the Bruins, Foligno appeared in 124 games from 2021-22 to 2022-23, where he scored 12 goals and 27 assists for 39 points, had 106 penalty minutes and 311 hits, and was a plus-10 rating.
Do you think the Chicago Blackhawks are going to struggle without their captain in the lineup?
