Some new details may have just been revealed, and if it's the case, Charlie McAvoy's situation may be way worse than originally expected.
Last night, in their game against the Montreal Canadiens, Charlie McAvoy ended up
leaving the game after taking a slapshot to the face.
Originally it was revealed that McAvoy was getting some testing done, and it wasn't clear whether or not he was going to travel with the team back to Boston or not.
The Bruins got some good news, as Elliotte Friedman revealed that McAvoy did end up
travelling back to Boston with the team, but now things may be taking a turn.
Mike Sullivan steps away from Rangers: Linked to McAvoy?
Right before their game against the Detroit Red Wings, it was revealed that head coach Mike Sullivan was stepping away from the Rangers.
Instead, former
Bruins interim head coach Joe Sacco and David Quinn are taking over the coaching duties.
Mike Sullivan will not be behind the Rangers bench tonight (personal reasons). David Quinn and Joe Sacco will split head coaching duties in his absence.
Immediately after this was announced, there was speculation that Sullivan stepping away from the Rangers was linked to Charlie McAvoy's injury.
You don't think this has anything to do with Charlie taking that puck to the face last night. Mike was watching that game. He said it was brutal.
Sullivan is McAvoy's father-in-law, and if this does have anything to do with McAvoy's injury, it could be really bad news for the Bruins.
