Avs top line closing in on B's top line in playoff history books
Not many teams have three superstars they can rely on up front.
Of those clubs, the Colorado Avalanche is probably the one who is comprised of the best top line in hockey.
The Avs' first line is made up of centerman Nathan MacKinnon and wingers Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen.
The trio has been amazing during the current Stanley Cup playoffs, with all three linemates providing great offence for their squad. But it's by combining their efforts that the linemates become unstoppable.
So far in the 2022 Cup run, a solid total of 14 goals have been scored with all three star forwards contributing to them, by either netting the goal or adding an assist on it.
The above chart shows just how rare a feat that is. By combining to score 14 goals together, Colorado's top line is now just two goals shy of the Bruins top line in playoff history.
When looking at the trio of players from the same team that have scored as many goals all together, it puts into perspective just how good the Bruins top guns really are.
They might not be in the playoffs anymore, but Boston fans should consider themselves truly lucky to have enjoyed Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak at such a high-level of play for so long!
