There's no doubt that Patrick Kane won't be with the Chicago Blackhawks for much longer, whether via trade this season or free agency next summer.
The veteran has spent his entire career with the Blackhawks but appears ready to move on from Chicago as they embark on a complete rebuild.
Now, it's reported that at least one Eastern Conference team is planning to make him a massive offer next year.
The Buffalo Sabres have been a disappointing team for many years now. They haven't made the playoffs since 2010, and fans have understandably been very frustrated with ownership.
The Sabres have made it clear they have no intention of trading for Kane, especially at his current price tag. But with the veteran heading into the final year of his current contract, the Sabres plan on aggressively pursuing the hometown kid next summer.
