Jeremy Swayman saw his first preseason game yesterday for the Boston Bruins, and he did not look that good.
Following the game, he spoke with the media and and issued a statement on how he felt.
It was a pretty embarrassing first game for Swayman, as the first goal he allowed, he ended up turning the puck over behind his own net.
Play starts with Jeremy Swayman not able to cleanly play a puck in the trapezoid, and then both
Billy Sweezey and Frederic Brunet get beat by a hustling
Tyson Foerster behind the net. He feeds to
Noah Cates in front and it's 1-0 Flyers
The second goal was also a weak one, where Swayman was beat from far out on a shot that he should have all day long.
2-1 Flyers. That can't go in. But it's Swayman's first game. Still shaking off the rust.
Bad Defense by Sweezey and Jeannot on the play.
Swayman speaks on his first performance of the season
Swayman and the Boston Bruins lost to a Flyers roster that was filled with a bunch of rookies, where as the Bruins had 14 veteran players in their lineup.
It was an embarrassing effort for
Swayman and the Boston Bruins, and following the game Swayman spoke on his performance and stated he felt good:
Swayman on how he feels getting up to speed:
"Excellent. It's good to get back on the ice. Good to be here. A year ago today was a little different, so I feel great being with the guys ramping this thing up and getting ready for opening day..."
"As far as cardio and conditioning go, I feel excellent."
Hopefully Swayman can get the bad games out now, and come the regular season, he can turn things around.
