Today, the Boston Bruins ended up making a special announcement regarding star goaltender
Jeremy Swayman
.
Entering the season, it wasn't clear whether or not Jeremy Swayman was going to be the
Bruins
' starting goaltender.
Swayman had a very bad season last year, making everyone question if he actually had it in him to be a starting goaltender in the NHL.
Jeremy Swayman wasn't the only one to struggle last season, as the Bruins as a whole did not play well, but he definitely did not help them out.
To finish the year last year,
Swayman
ended with a 22-29-7 record, along with a 3.11 goals against average and a .892 save percentage.
Because of this, there was a lot of speculation that the Bruins could move on from him, and they were reportedly close to making a deal.
A report in the off-season ended up revealing that the Edmonton Oilers had called the Bruins to try and
acquire Jeremy Swayman
.
Ultimately, the Bruins said no to the trade, as they believed that he could bounce back from the bad year he had.
This has been a smart move by the Bruins.
Special announcement regarding Jeremy Swayman
Today is Jeremy Swayman's birthday, and the Boston Bruins took the time out of their day to wish him a happy birthday on social media.

Swayman has been pretty good for the Bruins so far this season and is a big reason they sit where they do in the standings.
He currently sits with a 9-6-0 record with a 2.79 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
