Boston Bruins send Jermey Swayman to the Edmonton Oilers: NHL insider revealed a failed trade

With all the struggles the Oilers have had with their goaltending the past couple of years, David Pagnotta revealed that Jeremy Swayman was nearly traded there.
The Edmonton Oilers once again fell just short of winning the Stanley Cup Finals, and a big reason again for it is due to their goaltending.
After losing in back-to-back finals to the Florida Panthers, fans have been asking the organization to move on from Stuart Skinner.
It was reported that the Oilers did check in on John Gibson before he was traded to the Detroit Red Wings, but other then that there are no signs of them making a change in goal.
Swayman nearly sent to the Edmonton Oilers
David Pagnotta was the one to report that the Oilers were checking in on Ducks goaltender John Gibson.
He is also the one that revealed the Oilers check in on Jeremy Swayman back in November during the season.
According to Pagnotta, the Boston Bruins gave the Oilers a firm no whenever asked about acquiring him in a trade:

It doesn't come as a surprise that the Boston Bruins did not want to move on from Swayman, especially after signing him to a eight-year deal last off-season.
It seems like the only thing holding the Oilers back from hoisting the Stanley Cup is goaltending, and it'll be interesting to see if they acquire a goalie before, or during the 2025-26 season.
