A latest report has revealed that Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney and the organization is now facing a major and face crucial decision heading into the NHL offseason.
Michael DeRosa of The Hockey News has recently revealed a major dilemma that could set the Bruins back, and it's involving goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

There's going to be a big on-ice battle at the Bruins' roster camp before the 2025-26 NHL season kicks off between Michael DiPietro and Joonas Korpisalo, who is surprisingly still with the team.
"Barring a potential trade, the Bruins will enter training camp with a clear battle for their backup goalie spot. The Bruins notably re-signed goalie Michael DiPietro to a two-year, $1.625 million contract after his dominant season in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, and he should have a chance of making Boston's roster. However, veteran goalie Joonas Korpisalo also remains with the team now that we are nearing the middle of July."

Korpisalo had great struggles in the 2024-25 season under a struggling Bruins roster, could DiPietro be the spark they need?
The young netminder in the AHL with the Providence Bruins had a 26-8-5 record alongside a .927 save percentage in 40 games, it's truly impressive.
Earning AHL's player of the month on multiple occasions, he is now knocking on the door of GM Don Sweeney as he deserves an NHL role. It would be very beneficial if Swayman can find a backbone to fall on in DiPietro, and the Bruins' #1 netminder won't have to split games as he did with Korpisalo.
