The speculation continues to build that the Boston Bruins are the top contender to land free agent Ilya Kovalchuk.

Some fans would prefer the team to sign Rick Nash to a contract extension, however that's looking more and more unlikely.
While fans might have reservations about Kovalchuk, doesn't look like the Bruins players do.
Speaking with Kevin Dupont of the Boston Globe, B's forward Patrice Bergeron says he hopes GM Don Sweeney can land the forward and is willing to help in the recruitment process if needed.
"When he moved over to Russia, I never really thought about him ever wanting to come back," Bergeron said on Tuesday. "He's always been an amazing player with amazing skill — his shot is crazy. So, yeah, it would be great to be able to add a guy like him with his talent and his skill set we'll see what happens out of it, but he definitely would be a great addition.
"If I do get a call, of course I will try to help as much as possible."

Are you hoping the Bruins pass on Nash for Kovalchuk?
