The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney extended defenseman MattGrzelcyk last Friday and it could open up the door for a bigger move.

The deal gives them some depth on the blueline, especially if Torey Krug does get moved.

Rumors have been flying about Krug's future in Boston and he's been labeled as the Bruins most attractive trade chip at the moment.

There's been some chatter regarding David Backes and David Krejci but both those players carry full no movement clauses while Krug only carries a modified no trade clause.

Krug has proven to be an offensive specialist, however Charlie McAvoy is definitely proving that he can take on more responsibility and possibly even end up the QB on the power play.

Krug carries a $5.25million cap hit for the next two seasons while Grzelcyk only carries a $1.4million cap hit and McAvoy a $916k cap hit.

Do you think Krug will still be on the Bruins when the season starts?
