Speculation and rumors are starting to buzz around the Boston Bruins as we head into the NHL Draft and free agency.
Bruins general manager Don Sweeney himself has stated he'll make a big push for Ilya Kovalchuk, and at the same time rumors are building about
Torey Krug possibly getting shipped out of town.
There's been some small chatter about the B's trying to get Backes to waive his no trade clause, however it's unlikely to happen.
The latest speculation hovers over one of the Bruins best playoff performers, David Krejci.
NHL insider Darren Dreger mentioned on WGR 550am that there's been a number of teams calling Sweeney about Krejci. Dreger doesn't believe the Bruins are willing to move him but "every player has a price tag".
Both Krejci and Backes have full no movement clauses and trading Krejci would leave a big hole on the center depth chart.
Despite frustration by some Bruins fans towards Krejci over the years, the 32 year old has 87 points in 108 career NHL playoff games. He had 44 points in 64 games last year for the Bruins and added another 10 points in 12 games during the Bruins playoff run.
Should Sweeney consider moving Krejci?
