Bruins Sign Top Defensive Prospect

The Boston Bruins have finally received a decision their top defensive prospect, as he will officially turning pro after signing an amateur deal.

As per Bruins PR:

Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, March 31, that the Providence Bruins have signed defenseman Mason Lohrei to an AHL amateur tryout agreement (ATO).




Joining the Playoff Run



Lohrei will now join a strong Providence Bruins team with eight games remaining in the regular season. They currently hold top spot in the Eastern Conference with a 40-14-8 record.

The 22-year-old lead all defenseman on Ohio State University with four goals and 28 assists in 40 games this season. The 6-foot-4, 204-pound defender also recorded four goals and 25 assists in 31 games during his rookie season.

The Verona, Wisconsin native was originally selected in the second round (58th overall) by the Bruins at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

***Lohrei cannot join Boston without signing his Entry Level Contract first.
