A recent report revealed that a Boston Bruins defenseman may leave the organization during free agency, but also listed a player the Bruins could target if he does walk.
Heading into free agency, recently acquired defenseman Henri Jokiharju is one of the most notable names for the Boston Bruins.
There was talks after the season came to an end that Jokiharju would be open to staying in Boston, but anything can happen, and who knows if Don Sweeney even sees him being apart of their future.
If he decides to walk, or the Bruins do not re-sign him in free agency, The Hockey News listed a perfect candidate the Bruins could try and acquire to replace him in free agency.
Replacement For Jokiharju
If Jokiharju does end up walking, the Boston Bruins should be all over Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Dante Fabbro.
Playing in a top-pairing role with the Blue Jackets, Fabbro ended up scoring nine goals, and 26 points along with a plus-23 rating in just 62 games.
With the Boston Bruins wanting to make a push for the playoffs again next year, Fabbro would be an ideal piece to help them make that push, especially if Jokiharju walks in free agency.
