The Boston Bruins have now confirmed that they did in fact submit the trade before the deadline came to an end, and have acquired the former first-round pick defenseman.
Don Sweeney revealed that the Bruins have acquired Jokiharju in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick.
Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, March 7, that the team has acquired defenseman Henri Jokiharju from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round draft pick (originally from Edmonton).
Jokiharju has played in 42 games with the Buffalo Sabres this season, scoring three goals, and three assists for 6 points. The 200-pound defenseman has played for multiple organizations including the Buffalo Sabres and Chicago Blackhawks, playing a total of 389 career NHL games.
In those games, Jokiharju has scored 19 career goals, and 74 career assists for 93 career points.
He was originally drafted 29th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
