A Major Announcement Was Made Regarding Former Boston Bruins Head Coach Jim Montgomery And It Changes Things

Back in November, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney ended up firing Jim Montgomery as he felt like the team was not heading in the right direction, and the Bruins could benefit from a coaching change, but that was not the case.

Just six days after being fired by the Boston Bruins, the St. Louis Blues fired their head coach and instantly hired Jim Montgomery as their head coach.

Montgomery had ties to the St. Louis organization as he was formerly an assistant head coach for the organization.

Elliotte Friedman believed that Jim Montgomery wanted out of the organization as he did not like the way Don Sweeney was heading with the team, and that ultimately lead to his firing.

Since joining the St. Louis Blues, they have completely turned their season around and are currently sitting in a playoff picture, and have won 10 games in a row, unlike the Bruins who under Joe Sacco have been terrible and are riding a 9 game losing streak.

Now there are reports that Jim Montgomery could be in conversation for the Jack Adams award. He has a 31-16-6 record with the Blues since taking over, and have them in a playoff spot.
