The NHL trade deadline is still a long way away, but the Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to be buyers and go on another playoff push.

After trading Mitch Marner in the off-season and not really replacing him, the Leafs are in need of another top-six player.
One big thing that is going to hurt the Leafs is the fact that they don't have a ton of assets, but it isn't going to stop them from trying to be aggressive.
According to NHL insider and analyst Lyle Richardson of Bleacher Report, the Toronto Maple Leafs are a team that could be interested in Bruins forward Pavel Zacha.

Could Zacha get traded to the Leafs?

«The Maple Leafs are still trying to fill the void at right wing on their first line following Mitch Marner's departure,» Richardson wrote. «They could slot Zacha at left wing and move Matthew Knies or Bobby McMann to right wing. However, they lack sufficient cap space, first-rounders, and prospects to entice the Bruins.»

Zacha still has one year remaining after this season comes to an end and has a team-friendly contract.
Don Sweeney stated that the Bruins have a high price set for teams to acquire him, meaning the Leafs more than likely wouldn't be able to, but they would be wise to at least check in.
In 14 games for the Bruins this season, Zacha has scored 2 goals and 10 assists for 12 points.
The Bruins are not expected to be a playoff team this year, and by the NHL trade deadline, if they aren't close to a playoff spot, chances are they are going to be sellers once again.
Zacha is a player that could get moved on from if this is the case.
«They're definitely listening on Zacha, (Casey) Mittelstadt, and other players, but it's more knowing their options should they be out of the playoff race by American Thanksgiving or the New Year,» the source told RG. «The management staff and the coaching staff have let the players know that they still believe in them, so we will see where this goes.»
