Boston Bruins issue a major announcement regarding goaltender Joonas Korpisalo

Entering the season, it was unclear whether or not the Bruins were going to trade Korpisalo or keep him.

Throughout the off-season, there were a lot of rumors suggesting the Bruins were going to trade Korpisalo.

Especially considering Korpisalo called the Bruins organization out at the end of last season for his lack of playing time.

Ultimately, the Bruins decided to not trade him and re-run the tandem of Korpisalo-Swayman, and it's been paying off.

There was a stretch where both of them weren't playing the best, but the blame wasn't completely on them.

Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm made some changes to his defense, and it's been paying off as the Bruins have won their last three games after losing six straight, and Korpisalo has played a big role.

Korpisalo ended up snapping the losing streak for the Bruins in their game against the New York Islanders, where he was super solid.

He ended up stopping 33 out of 35 shots, finishing the game with a .943 SV%.

Then he followed that up by having another strong showing against the Buffalo Sabres, stopping 37 out of 40 shots, finishing that game with a .925 SV%.

Due to how good he was for the Bruins, he ended up earning himself a star of the week, going 2-0-0, with a .933 SV%, a 2.46 GAA, and stopping 70/75 shots.

It seems like Korpisalo has started to find his game, and it's going to be huge for the Bruins moving forward if he can continue to play.
