The Boston Bruins made an unforgettable trade this past trade deadline by sending off their former captain, Brad Marchand, to the Florida Panthers, and now fans are making it known who they want to be their next captain, and it's surprising.
Following Marchand's trade, there was many speculation regarding who will be taking over the 'C' label, and initially there was a lot of questions looming towards whether or not Charlie McAvoy was going to become the new leader.
However, there is a new possible leader in question following an impeccable performance portrayed by the one and only, David Pastrnak.
David Pastrnak has undoubtedly represented the organization beautifully as of late, just yesterday, the forward broke an unexpected record for playing a factor in every point the team has accumulated in the past 10 goals.
Fans express they want Pastrnak as captain
That sounds like the kind of leader the Boston Bruins need at the moment.
With unfortunate recurrences following Marchand's departure, including the fact the team is currently sitting at a 1-8-1 in their past 10 games, the Bruins are in dire need of a new leader.
Although the team hasn't revealed who their next captain will be, they need to get on it quickly, as the Bruins only have 4 games left of the NHL regular season, action needs to be made in order to succeed next season with their re-build on-going.
