The Boston Bruins have officially released their roster for their game tonight against the Calgary Flames.
Today the Bruins are returning home to TD Garden, and will face the Calgary Flames for their first game of a two-game homestand.
Boston Bruins head coach is making multiple changes once again to the Boston Bruins lineup heading into the game.
Pavel Zacha is shifting back to centre between David Pastrnak and Tyler Johnson, who is getting a surprisingly early promotion after just signing with the Boston Bruins a couple days ago.
«(Pavel Zacha and David Pastrnak) have played really well together for two years in a row,» Montgomery said, per team-provided transcript. «I thought the line of (Charlie) Coyle, Zacha and (Justin) Brazeau was doing a good job. We feel that our defensive structure game is in a good place. We don't see a lot of offense being created in several of our last games five-on-five. We're not getting a lot of Grade-A chances. We just have to go to harder areas more consistently and be more direct offensively.»
Montgomery is also once again breaking up the fourth line of Cole Koepke, Johnny Beecher, and Mark Kastelic as Cole Koepke is coming off the fourth line and will play on the third line beside Charlie Coyle and Matthew Poitras. Trent Frederic will get demoted down to the fourth line.
Personally I think that Jim Montgomery has been making way too many changes to the lines, it feels like after every game we are reporting new lines that the Bruins are running, and with new additions to the lineup, Montgomery is not giving the players enough time to create chemistry together. In my opinion Montgomery needs to create lines, and stick with them for a minimum of 10 games, and if they don't mesh together after that, then change them.
Here are the projected lines for the Bruins and Flames game:
Brad Marchand - Elias Lindholm - Justin Brazeau Tyler Johnson - Pavel Zacha - David Pastrnak Cole Koepke - Charlie Coyle - Matt Poitras Johnny Beecher - Mark Kastelic - Trent Frederic
