Bruins head coach Marco Sturm already in the running for a trophy with the organization

On Monday, the Boston Bruins ended up losing their perfect record of 3-0-0 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, who ended up getting their first win of the season.
The Bruins were tied at the top of the league with the Florida Panthers before losing today, and now it looks like they are sitting in third place.
It's still super early into the season, and the Bruins are impressing a lot of people right now, but an NHL insider does not believe that they are going to be contenders just yet.
NHL insider Sean McIndoe ranked the five teams that have the best chance of winning the Stanley Cup, and the Bruins were excluded from the conversation.
«And no, it doesn't get them into the top five. It doesn't get them anywhere close, in fact. If you're looking at the long term, you're not going to pretend that a 76-point team suddenly pushed to the front of the Cup chase based on one good week,» the senior NHL writer said. «But the Bruins are worth talking about, and maybe the conversation should start with whether this was really a 76-point team last year.»
To add to that, he had this to say:
«on paper, this is still a team that should have enough talent to at least stay in the playoff race.»
Marco Sturm in the running for the Jack Adams Award?
Boston made a big change this off-season whenever they hired former fan favourite Marco Sturm as their new head coach.
McIndoe state that even thought the Bruins haven't really been tested so far, as they have played the Capitals, Blackhawks, Sabres and Lightning, that Sturm is a early candidate for the Jack Adams Award.
«You can only beat the teams the schedule gives you, but we'll learn more this week, starting Monday when the Bruins host the Lightning,» he wrote. «After that, it's on to road stops in Vegas and Colorado. Beat a few of those teams, and then we can talk about early-season surprises. Until then, we might at least have our early Jack Adams favorite.»
This Award is handed to the coach of the year, and would be a huge honor if Sturm could take that home in just his first season.
