Elliotte Friedman Reveals The Boston Bruins Are Set To Acquire Former 4th Overall Pick For Free
A former 4th overall pick was just placed on the NHL waiver wire for the purpose of contract termination, and this could be a massive opportunity for the Boston Bruins to make a change for free.
Puljujarvi (PIT) on unconditional waivers to terminate
Puljujarvi is in his second year of a 2-year contract he signed with the Penguins with a cap hit of $800,000 a season.
This is a perfect opportunity for the Boston Bruins and Don Sweeney to make a move. Sweeney has stated that he isn't happy with his current roster, and he could acquire Puljujarvi for free without giving up any assets.
Puljujarvi hasn't been properly given an opportunity to prove himself, and has dealt with some major injuries which has probably played a big role in not being able to perform.
Jesse Puljujarvi has played with three different organizations including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, and Carolina Hurricanes, but has not been able to land himself a full-time roster spot.
Last year, he appeared in 26 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins where he had 3 goals, 6 assists and 9 points. He can provide secondary scoring when given the time to play, and isn't afraid to throw his weight around.
If no one does end up claiming Puljujarvi off of waivers, he will officially become a free agent and can sign a contract with whatever organization he would like too.
