Former Boston Bruins star gets a new job with management
Former Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets alumni, and star Rick Nash has found himself in a new position in the NHL.
The former Bruin had joined the Columbus Blue Jackets front office in 2019 as special assistant to the general manager. He was promoted in 2021 to the director of player development and was promoted once again today.
Nash was originally selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets 1st overall in the 2002 NHL Draft. He served as Captain for the Blue Jackets from 2008 until his trade to the New York Rangers in 2012.
Nash's jersey was retired during the 2022 season as Columbus' first Star forward with the franchise.
With the Blue Jackets Nash played 674 games, scoring 547 points(289 G, 258 A), and is considered one of the best players to put on the uniform for the Blue Jackets ever.
Nash would only play 11 games with the Bruins before his retirement from the NHL, scoring 9 points(3 G, 6 A).
He led the NHL with 41 goals in 2003-04 and was a six-time All-Star. He suffered several reported concussions during his NHL career, most recently in March as a member of the Bruins. He missed six weeks with concussion symptoms in 2013 while with the Rangers.Jan 11, 2019
