There's been discussion regarding Joonas Korpisalo's role with the Boston Bruins, which obviously will be a backup goalie.

He will have to battle it out for the backup spot with Brandon Bussi who has been a revelation in the AHL.

Actually don't think Boston would hesitate to waive Korpisalo if Bussi out performs him in camp, IMO. Obviously they have confidence in Korpisalo (whether they wanted him or Ottawa volun-told them to take him), but Bussi is cheaper, younger and has far less baggage. #NHLBruins

The goalie battle couldn't be more precarious as with Jeremy Swayman's #1 spot being secure with the Bruins, the #2 and #3 spots will be the only two up for grabs in the future.
But business is business, while Bob Essensa is confident he can help Korpisalo find his game again, there's nothing certain about spots in the NHL and no one is safe, that is unless you're Brad Marchand or Patrice Bergeron.
Brandon Bussi played 41 games in the AHL last season, with a 23-10-5 record, a 2.67 GAA, and a .913 save percentage.
He could easily give Korpisalo a run for his money during training camp if he wants.
