The Boston Bruins were just hit with some season-altering news regarding star defenseman Charlie McAvoy.
Charlie McAvoy ended up leaving the
Bruins game against the Montreal Canadiens on November 15th after taking a
slapshot to the face.
There has been no update on his situation since then, but that was until today after the Bruins practice.
Today, head coach Marco Sturm issued a statement on Charlie McAvoy's health, and it's not good.

According to Marco Sturm, Charlie McAvoy underwent surgery after being hit in the face by the puck.
There is still no timeline for his return back to the lineup at this point.

This is a huge hit for the Bruins, who just started to get rolling this season, and Charlie McAvoy has been a big part of that.
Boston is currently sitting second in the Atlantic Division, behind just the Detroit Red Wings.
A big reason they are in the position they are right now is because of Charlie McAvoy.
With no timeline on McAvoy's return, the season could very well get ugly for the Boston Bruins.
